My name is Nik, and I’m the bartender at Between the Sips—a modern cocktail bar tucked into Senopati, Jakarta. It’s a space that invites you to slow down, take a breath, and savour what’s in your glass.
I still remember the first time I stepped into a nightclub and saw bartenders in action. The performance, the energy, the flair—it wasn’t just about making drinks. It was about presence. Expression. Craft as experience.
To me, craft is exactly that: a blend of art, skill, and soul. There’s something beautiful about the moment a guest smiles after their first sip. That shared energy—it turns into harmony across the bar.
Sometimes I remind myself: don’t forget to smile. Don’t forget to enjoy the ambience, too.
Outside of bartending, I’m always exploring—new places, new inspiration. If I could share a drink with anyone, maybe it’d be Bob Marley. Just to catch a glimpse of the spirit behind the music that moves the world.
